The basic values which had spun a very strong fabric of love and the spirit of sacrifice for NATION, before independence, has eroded very fast, particularly among younger generations and a class of academicians, in the name of SECULARISM and FREEDOM of expression within last 7 decades after independence. On many occasions national interest and security has been overlooked. It is a dangerous emerging tendency that has become an elite fashion in certain academic and so called progressive circles, adversely influencing the younger generations. This undesirable situation can be aptly summed up by the human tendency of, “OUT OF SITE OUT OF MIND,” and needs to be nipped in the bud.
Therefore,
1. erection of WAR MEMORIALS and placing other relevant symbols in all the UNIVERSITIES and academic institutions is a must ,
2. also because, “AN EMPTY MIND IS A DEVILS WORKSHOP,” introduction of a compulsory short term course in military science and training is a necessity in view of constant threat we are facing from two rogue neighbours.
These steps are a must to reinculcate the fast eroding values of the social and national interest and rekindle the spirit of sacifice in our future generations !!
